Two spiders in a web. The bigger spider, to whom the web seemed to belong, was working on a beetle. The smaller could have been a mate, or an interloper, or the next meal — or possibly all three.

Anybody know what this is?
I don’t know if it is a fungus or a plant.
It was in clumps up to 3 inchs in diameter, apparently growing on dead wood. This was seen a little ways south of our property.
